“I reframe ugly aspects of our environment, such as industrial sites and electrical substations, into works of art. I am influenced by deconstruction philosophy and as such my work questions what beauty is and what it means to make or own a piece of art.” Robert Stembridge

Robert Stembridge is an architect originally from rural North Georgia. He attended Georgia Tech before going to Albuquerque to attend the University of New Mexico, where he earned an MA with a concentration in Aesthetic Theory. He has been painting in mixed media and making assemblages for over 30 years.
